KI-EC Ltd. offers an inexpensive mobile data traffic offload solution for GSM, 3G- UMTS , 4G - LTE and 5G networks to enable network providers like MNO, MVNO's and ISP to handle high bandwidth capacities.

MVNO's can for example offer with the new Offload network highly competitive flatrate services without dependence on their main service provider.

The solution can compete with fiber based local loop solutions and is based on Wifi / WLAN.

KI-EC Ltd. can design the network, integrate the solution, provide the necessary business plan for financial negotiations and deliver the network “Turn Key”.

We can operate the network for you or even provide the service based on our own network.

The Solution:

  • The solution offers a limited mobility, but handover speeds of up to 50 km/h have been approved.
  • All worldwide mobile devices and laptops are prepared to work with our 802.11n WiFi air interface.
  • The 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G Offload interworking and billing for roaming customers can be provided via an existing Clearing Operator e.g. in Switzerland (Vodafone Spin Off), who has contracts with most international Mobile Providers or customers switch directly and automatically with data traffic into the full coverage WiFi network, when it is detected.
  • With a smart phone application the data traffic can be offloaded automatically into the new network by existing providers.
  • Video, Data and Voice can be used with the solution.

A technical minimum of physical bandwidth of 3 * 20 MHz in the 2,4 GHz band has been used to design the very first mile of the access network, which is connected with a double and central and not meshed backhaul system. With a new radio field design and the usage of most simple access systems a full WiFi radio coverage can be achieved.

  • All used technologies are in mass production and available on the market.
  • Systems are e.g. running in projects in Linz, Austria and Cologne, Germany successfully.
  • Transmission Towers with 5GHz Access Systems will provide a part of the backhaul.
  • A mix of WiFi in different frequency bands, transmissions links will be used.
  • If areas are in need of very high bandwidth the fibre will be rolled out to the tower or transceiver-repeater.
  • For rural areas a special design will be used, which makes the coverage of populated village areas in large areas possible.
  • To achieve full WiFi radio coverage in cities makes it necessary to set up repeaters in small distances. The repeater-transceivers will be installed like terrestrial TV antennas on the top of roofs of e.g. private houses.
  • The used WiFi and network equipment offers a very high Quality of Service (QoS), which are necessary to be able to offer media Streaming or VoIP telephony with a very good quality.

  • Rural network with 40 Mbit/s.
  • 20 Mbit/s per user for less than 5000 citizens per sqkm.

  • 120 Mbit/s per user network.
